I would like to provide a review for the completed catio, consisting of the tower, tunnel, and shelves. It has now survived two New England winters, including high winds, snow, and ice, as well as some very bad summer storms, with no problems at all, which speaks to the high quality of the product. The assembly directions were well written and helpful diagrams. When we did need a bit of help, we were able to get a real, live person on the phone to help - on a weekend, no less! Best of all, our cat absolutely loves it!
Excellent customer service and quality products.
I live in the desert, which is wonderful, BUT is dangerous for cats. We have wildlife consisting of mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, owls, hawks, raccoons, javelinas, and more. Two coyotes decided to make my neighborhood their permanent home, and sleep right in our front yards, etc. Once that happened, I decided it was too dangerous to allow my cats out into my backyard any longer, and started building catios, as, even though we have 6 foot block walls, the predators scale that no problem. I set about putting window boxes on every window, and built 5 catios, 2 of which are extra large ones that are 10 feet high, filled with enrichment. I have one catio that I would have to carry my cats to, as there was no house access. Of course, this catio turned out to be their favorite, ha. It is 36x16x10, and I call it the jungle because I built it around the giant bushes that my cats used to hide in while hunting, when I did allow them outside until 4 pm (they stayed in my backyard). Anyway, I reached out to Habitat Haven to purchase a tunnel to connect my 2 largest catios, so my lovelies would have house access, and the ability to use the catio all night long (I closed it up when I went to bed, and brought my cats inside). After watching them use the tunnel for a few days, I saw that they loved running in it, and knew they needed a longer tunnel (original was only 22 feet long) to really be able to run and chase, so I ordered a much longer, 54 foot tunnel. Once I did that, I ordered one more tunnel to connect it to my house, giving them another access point. To sum it up, they now have 22 foot, 54 foot, and 32 foot tunnels that they run, chase, frolick, and lie in. Also, when they first began using them, they had a bit of a time getting around each other, as they are single lane tunnels, creating some friction. Now, they just jump right on over whomever is in their way, haha. No one gets upset, and it is their solution, and works great.
I love these tunnels for my cats. Were they cheap? NOPE, but they are worth every penny, seeing the absolute joy my cats derive from using them. They are in them day and night, and I have the camera footage to prove it, ha.
I will say that if money is tight (in this economy food is a luxury, I know), I would figure a way to build a small catio (make sure to go vertical, if you can. I would NOT build one less than 10 ft high), and save your money for tunnels. They make ALL the difference. And put them up high. My cats adore bird watching from high up in their tunnels. Oh, and looking down at the peasants, us humans and dogs, haha.
She loves playing and scratching and after couple of days now it is her favorite place to sleep. And it is exactly as you see in their add. I wish that pillows had something to hold on. They are no big when they are jumping up or down. But all with all great, we love it.
It’s very cute and my 3 cats love the baskets. Unfortunately, the screw that’s connects the tree stripped. I had to dissemble the tree to get my carpet cleaned. I’m in a small studio. When I tried to reassemble it, the screw stripped. Real bummer. I ended up keeping because the lower level still has a basket. All 3 cats take turns using it. The top level is being used for scratching.
My dog is turning 12 this year and loves sleeping with me, but my bed is very high. She used to use a box to get up, but never to get down. One day she jumped off and struggled to get back up because she has arthritis in her back and hind legs. I bought this ramp in a panic because I didn’t want her jumping anymore, but I also knew how much she loves sleeping with me.
This ramp is absolutely perfect. While she doesn’t like going up it (it’s hard for her to lift her back legs), she uses it to get down—which is exactly what I needed. She weighs about 55 pounds, and the ramp holds her weight well. The height is also very adjustable.
Shipping was quick, and it arrived carefully packaged. Please don’t wait like I did—protect your pet’s joints! I highly recommend this product.
It’s also super convenient in the morning. I can fold it down and slide it right under my bed, where it fits perfectly. It doesn’t take up much space at all, even when it’s out.
We have two cats, and they both love their catio. Assembly was very easy as well!
It's a little tough to install since the plastic is so thick but once in, it's good. I did have to add a weight to the door, which didn't seem to want to close all the way on it's own ( this is 3rd window door (2 catios)) and the door design seems to be different and not function as well as previous available doors. I used heavy rare earth magnets on the bottom and it's enough weight to fall closed now and seal. Removed a star for that. Previous doors were perfect.
The catio designed and prepared by habitat Haven is amazing! My cat is seven and we recently moved and he has not had the same outdoor privileges. Since the catio was installed he has been in heaven and a much happier child to live with!! Habitat Haven was there for me every step of the way making suggestions and modifying things to my needs. I am thrilled with my purchase!!
This window insert was the perfect addition to our existing catio. My cat became familiarized with how to open the door flap very quickly and it keeps the bugs out and maintains the temperature inside the home.
We had a weird porch offset to our window. We did an L shaped walkway to allow the cat to get to the catio. Worked great!

Habitat Haven provided top quality materials and exceptional customer service.
The catio gives Jack plenty of space to walk, stretch and climb. It is sturdy and well made. It did take 2 handymen to put it together.
Jack loves the tunnel. He always stops to sit halfway to his "haven" just to view his surroundings . Our tunnel is raised along the top of bushes which he loves.
I took Iris about 48 hours to realize she could come and go through the window to monitor the bird and squirrel population but once she did, she’s been a very happy kitty! In the winter, the birds use the catio as a shelter so she can sit in the window and watch them and dream about spring coming.
We purchased both a catio structure and two window cat doors and we are very happy with both. My cat loves going through the tunnel between the catios and he uses the windows easily. He is a former feral cat so he was a bit fearful at first of how the cat door rested on his back as he went through the door but he quickly gained confidence and now it's a piece of cake! Customer service is excellent- they helped with the catio design and quickly corrected a small issue with the order delivery.
Ramp looks just like the picture. Great quality wood and durable. My cats have a much easier walkway.
I ordered the Catio standard luxury edition. The product is well designed and manufactured. It arrived earlier than promised and was very well packaged with no damage during delivery despite being a very large item. The assembly instructions are good, however, there was no explanation for the large opening on one side of the tower. After a phone call to Customer Support I learned that opening is intended to be attached to a wall of the home. However, I can foresee many deployment scenarios in which that would be undesirable for the customer. I had to order $160 worth of additional wire panels to close off that hole. In addition, the installation instructions were not at all clear at this point.
Nice flooring. A little noisy when walking on. My cat is pretty skittish, but he's getting used to it. Love the smell of cedar!
