We stock durable polycarbonate for window bases up to 4ft (48").  For window inserts longer than 4ft (48") we can custom order Polycarbonate (we recommend using a slightly thicker 3/8” polycarbonate) or PVC (add 1-2 weeks to lead time). PVC and 3/8” polycarbonate is more rigid (doesn’t flex as much) which is recommended for very wide window cat door inserts and ensures structural integrity and better security.

• Cat Door Sizes: We use two standard-sized pet doors for cats up to 15 lbs. Customizations can be made to the insert and pet door size, and charges may apply.
  
  
  • Small Cat Doors: have an overall size of 7-1/2"W x 7-7/8"H with a 5-11/16"W x 5-11/16"H Cat Flap. The Small Cat Door is installed on a 10"H polycarbonate window insert
    
    
  • Large Cat Doors: have an overall size of 9 1/4"W x 10”H with a 7"W x 7"H Cat Flap. The Large Cat Door is installed on a 13"H polycarbonate window insert
    
    
  • Tunnel Connection: if you are adding a tunnel connection, the window insert will be 18" height and have a Large Cat Door pre-installed with the Tunnel Connection around it. 
    
    
• Window Height: Small Cat Doors come installed into a 10" height and Large Cat Doors come installed into a 13" height polycarbonate sheet; all inserts have custom widths to fit your window!

• Polycarbonate: standard 1/4” or extra-wide inserts can use custom-ordered PVC or 3/8” polycarbonate (Contact Us to discuss the best material for your use-case!)

• To get an accurate measurement for your window cat door insert, simply measure the width of your window sash, and then add either 1/2" OR add the full depth of one side of your windows guide/track.
  
  
• For example:  If your window sash is 30" wide, and the window guide is 3/4" deep, adding 1/2" will work, but adding 3/4" to your measurement will fit more snugly, especially once the foam weather stripping is added to the outside edge (which creates a weather-proof seal between the cat door insert and the window opening). 
   
• Our Standard Habitat Haven cat door window inserts use 1/4" polycarbonate for strength and stability with three standard heights ranging from 10" up to 18" (please Contact Us using the form at the bottom of the page for customizations to height or orientation!)

For customers looking to attach a tunnel to their window cat door insert, tunnel attachments allow for a seamless transition from your home to your Habitat Haven enclosure! Tunnel attachments are installed into an 18" height polycarbonate sheet  with a custom width and pre-mounted tunnel attachment.

Tunnel Connections add a pre-installed 4" section of our Habitat Haven tunnel to your cat door window inserts, allowing for a seamless transition to your Habitat Haven enclosure!

PLEASE NOTE:  Tunnel Connectors are only available installed into an 18" Height polycarbonate Cat Door Window Insert. Please ensure your window can open at least 18" before purchasing.

• Cut and install insulating foam strips:  provided with every order is a foam weather strip with one glued edge to prevent warm/cold drafts around the edges of your window insert. Cut the included foam strips to lengths needed for the top, bottom, and both sides. Remove the cover of the glued edge, and then press the foam strips onto the edge of the window insert. Give the glue a minute or two to dry and adhere the foam weather stripping before moving onto the next step.
  
  
• Place your insert into your window.  The cat door window insert should be inserted into the track on one side, then aligned directly under the window sash. Lastly center the window insert so each end sits evenly in both sides of the window’s track.

If ordered individually, fabrication takes 1-3 days and will ship via small parcel which can take 1-5 additional days depending on your location (see our shipping page). If your window cat door insert is ordered with a catio enclosure, they will ship together (likely via freight delivery service).

Max Window Width for Stocked Polycarbonate: we stock widths up to 48" for polycarbonate, if your window is longer than 48" we can custom order your size from our distributor (either PVC or polycarbonate). Please Note: custom sizes over 4ft will have longer lead times than stocked sizes and will be subject to additional charges.
