Though we call them window enclosures, these pet-friendly versatile enclosure spaces are able to be used anywhere up against a flat surface including windows, walls, fences, and more! These enclosures are great to get started for a limited budget and can easily be added to later with tunnels, stairs, towers, and larger enclosures when budget allows!
Window enclosures also make a great starting point to transition from the home to the outdoor space. because they can go over most window openings, it is easy to add a simple cat door or even just open the window when you need to let the cat in or out!
Window enclosures include a wood floor only. Shelving is not included but can be purchased separately.
Please make sure when you are ordering the window enclosure that it clears your window frame by 6" all around to allow for the 6" lip that is used to fasten the enclosure securely to the surrounding surface. All window enclosures come with cedar floor. Doors and shelves are not included in window enclosures.
Mounting hardware - Fasteners (Masonry Fasteners/Deck Screws and Washers) are included. Securely holds to most surfaces. Contact us if you have questions about attaching to your building or home.
Enclosures will arrive partially assembled for the purposes of safe and secure shipping. Instructions will be provided for assembly.
Build your own kit enclosures do not come with any holes created in the enclosure space to accept other components. The entry points are designed to be created on-site during installation to match seamlessly with tunnels, towers, bridges, and stairs. This allows for maximum flexibility during setup.
Please note that for Build Your Own Window Enclosure orders, wood for shelves are sold separately.
In order to keep the pricing of our components competitive, every part of the fabrication process has been streamlined. Any changes to configuration remove most if not all of these optimizations and require manual review and planning. Changes affect the fabrication process, planning process, require custom instructions that may not be as easy to follow as our standard design, and the chance for errors in these steps is much higher. As a result of the extra time and resources involved, other options and configurations can be provided but additional fees will be required. Please contact us for details if you require customizations.
Enclosures will arrive partially assembled and flat packed on a pallet. Assembly is straightforward for anyone who would consider themselves "handy." Paper instructions will be provided. It is recommended that at least two reasonably healthy people are present to install the enclosures. Knowledge of basic carpentry and assembly are helpful.
Clips will be provided that secure the enclosure togther. In addition, a special tool for snugly fitting/closing the clips is also provided with each enclosure order.
Once unpacked, you will arrange your enclosure near or on the assembly site. Using provided 3 prong clips and specialty pliers, you will connect the edges of your enclosure by setting the edges until you have a fully enclosed and free-standing enclosure.
At that point you can then attached to structure/buildings as necssary. Then you can create any needed holes in the enclosure to accept tunnels, stairs, or other accessory components as needed (holes are not made by Habitat Haven - they are made during assembly installation to offer maximum flexibility and minimize the chance for errors.)

Each component that we make is designed and created by hand in our shop in Michigan. We fabricate each enclosure, tunnel, tower, and stair to the highest standards.
Our materials have been thoroughly tested in thousands of applications since 2003 to ensure we offer the most flexible, attractive, and durable pet-safe enclosures available today.
Each component goes through an 8-point inspection to ensure that it meets our expectations and yours. It does not leave our shop until we would be willing to let our own kitties enjoy it.
We use galvanized steel mesh that is set in a 2” x 2” grid pattern that is then powder coated for added beauty and durability.
Habitat Haven products feature cedar wood for its stunning natural look and feel. It also naturally resists bugs and decay, perfect for outdoor applications.
Most of our items ship specially flat-packed and partially assembled via freight carrier (on a wooden pallet) to provide the highest level of security and to minimize the occurrence of shipping damage.
