We used Habitat Haven to build a "Kittie Kingdom" for our formerly young feral mama cat and her four kittens, which we adopted after the kittens were born under our house. Our five cats absolutely love the several tunnel-connected enclosures (consisting of one large custom space on a lower level of our yard connecting to two tunnel-connected separate lion's dens that connect with tunnels to our Habitat Haven lanai enclosure, and many shelves and climbing poles), which have also provided my husband and me with much peace-of mind and joy knowing that they are safe and happy with their space. Before Habitat Haven, we built a temporary enclosure without realizing the value of vertical space, tunnels, etc. Habitat Haven knows what cats want! From our cats' perspective: "Spacious outdoor but covered play and nap areas with lots of climbing opportunities. With five of us, we can spend time together yet each still have our own separate space when we want it."
Before I ever heard of Habitat Haven, I had my husband build a small enclosure with access from a window. Once I found HH, I knew I needed to expand my cats' outdoor experience to give them a more enriched life. I could not be more excited and happy with the enclosure I bought. We added the "my own den petit" to our existing enclosure with two tunnels. At first, I only bought one tunnel but quickly realized there was a territory issue (even though my two-year old cats have grown up together one tunnel was not going to work) so I had to purchase a 2nd tunnel to attach. Thankfully, the size of the 2nd tunnel did not require me to pay a freight cost (a WONDERFUL customer service guru helped me with the 2nd tunnel purchase). The enclosure is enriching my life also because I love watching my cats enjoy the space - it is truly gratifying to see them happy.
We added a pet door to our sliding glass door that opens to the catio tunnel into their play space! They love it! The catio even matches our patio chairs!
They spend so much time out in the catio. Great exercise and outdoor stimulation. So glad we made the decision to add this. Our neighbors love watching them play too.
As we expected, the cage has hugely added to our (2) cat's world. We live along a river where there is an abundance of wild life. The cage is very well made and makes me and my husband feel secure that our beloved pets are safe AND it allows the cats to enjoy the wild life too. We did not assemble it but our handyman said it was straightforward and reasonably easy to do.
Catio has worked out great! Both cats use it together and alone. A bird house and trees nearby ensure lots of bird action for them to enjoy. We love it being off the ground to keep other critters away from them and/or having access into the house. Thank you! Great product!
I was looking for a solution to protect my feral cat colony from fox predation after trapping them for spaying/neutering (the foxes are a huge problem where we live). Since they aren't socialized and can't become indoor cats, these catios are a great way for them to be outside in nature while also protected. I like the modular nature of the catios as I can just add on as needed. My cats took to the setup right away and don't even try to escape when I open the door. They have all the comforts of home and the feeling of safety that I can tell is comforting for them. I've even seen some other cats trying to get IN to the catios. The beauty is, as I try to trap and spay/neuter the new cats, I can add a catio setup for them too!
