When I received the pallet we noticed about 6 of the boards were cracked/split. AJ immediately replaced them and we got ready to put together the Catio. I had ordered the door on the left side but it came with the door on the right side. Luckily the door swing fit where we wanted to install it. Overall it is well made and the cats love it. I have had many compliments and several friends asking about your company.
Thank goodness I found Habitat Haven and friends to help me design and install what has turned out to be a wonderful solution to a new neighbor ( who was not feline friendly) . My 5 rescues came from the wooded area behind my yard and were indoor/outdoor cats for years! Last summer I was forced to find a solution that allow them fresh air and exercise but still kept them safe.
I built a tunnel from a cat door that crosses the yard to get the kitties out to the two enclosures. There are 2 tunnels connecting the enclosures which are built straddling a healthy wisteria. I now have a garden of ferns, mosses and morning glory vines added so it is as natural an area possible. Inside there is room for my chair as well as their little hut with cushioned sleeping area. Sod did not take so they now have foam scratch pads on both floors.
These folks will help you with any design that fits your needs. We bought an RV so we could enjoy vacations with our cats in tow. I can't say they love the RV as much as we do, but they are not being boarded and that's something that I love. We wanted to give them extra space and an opportunity to go outside without potential escape or harm. This catio does all that. Habitat Haven helped us design it so it is portable and sturdy without having to compromise the exterior of the RV. Once we stop and set up the catio they are quick to come out and enjoy the fresh air. And I get to be the crazy cat lady of the RV parks. Folks stop to ask about it all the time. Thanks Habitat Haven!
Ending up at an animal shelter can be very stressful for many cats. The catio is a place where they can relax, enjoy the sun and watch the world, safely. It brings a calmness and joy to the kitties waiting to go to a forever home.
Thanks so much from Animal Adoptions of Flamborough!
After doing lots of catio research, I decided on this one because it fit our space and vision so well, and can be disassembled and relocated. My three girls took to it immediately! They now have more vertical space, can sunbathe, feel the breeze, and watch the birds, bees, and butterflies in our pollinator garden, rain or shine. They are harness trained so get walks in the garden, but now they love being able to come and go through the cat door at their own leisure. My siamese mix likes to be up on the top shelf, even during rainstorms! I have to call them back in at night by shaking a treat bag through the window cat door.
This catio is very well made, and Habitat Haven has prompt customer service. I feel confident my cats are safe in their catio, and I even screened it in temporarily, and will keep the screening up through the end of summer. I wanted to reduce mosquito bite exposure (we are in Texas), even though they are on heartworm prevention. I used a fifty foot roll of 48 inch wide screening, so it was fairly easy to measure and cut. I overlapped the corners, and secured using binder clips. I thought it might take away from the polished look of the catio, but visibility from inside is quite good, and there are no gaps, even though it took extra time around the door and window to secure it. Next I'll be adding a natural pecan tree limb (gifted by my neighbor) to secure inside horizontally for some extra scratching and climbing. I will rotate beds, and baskets for enrichment, and according to the weather.
This catio has been a game changer in my cats' world, and I am so grateful for the joy it has brought us! We might even expand it out to the garden in the future. Thanks so much!
