Four-sided catio enclosures from Habitat Haven feature all 4 sides and top enclosed with an open floor. These open-floor catios are best for level surfaces such as concrete, wood, gravel, mature grass, and any other surface that will not allow a kitty to escape by digging.

Habitat Haven catio enclosures are both modular and flexible. They can be made to fit nearly any scenario you can imagine!

Our array of various enclosure configurations and designs are available in hundreds of configurations here in our catalog. Combine them, mix and match, connect them with tunnels, bridges, stairs, towers and more!

Each enclosure is constructed from heavy-gauge galvanized steel wire that is then put through a coating process that adds extra durability to the finish. Our enclosures are made using the highest quality standard to ensure your enclosure lasts a very long time!

Assembly. Enclosures will arrive partially assembled for the purposes of safe and secure shipping. Instructions will be provided for assembly.

Holes for Tunnels, Bridges, Stairs, etc in enclosures. Build your own kit enclosures do not come with any holes created in the enclosure space to accept other components. The entry points are designed to be created on-site during installation to match seamlessly with tunnels, towers, bridges, and stairs. This allows for maximum flexibility during setup.

Securing to Ground Surface. For finished surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, tile, wood/composite/metal decking, pavers enclosures with no floor such as this should be secured to the ground using provided clips. Fasteners for this are NOT included but should be chosen based on the material being secured to. Other surfaces such as grass, mulch, pebbles, etc. can be secured with a wood/composite frame (not included) or left to sit under its own weight when preferred.

Please note that for Build Your Own Enclosure orders, wood shelves and wood floor are sold separately.

However, shelving is strongly encouraged. A minimum of 6 shelves per enclosure (2 shelves per side that does not contain a door)is recommended. Our enclosures are functional and structurally sound without shelving, however, not including shelves may lead to a slight curvature of the wire mesh panels (particularly on uneven ground.)

In order to keep the pricing of our components competitive, every part of the fabrication process has been streamlined. Any changes to configuration remove most if not all of these optimizations and require manual review and planning. All four-sided enclosure doors are designed to open outward (when facing the door from the outside), however, they can be made to swing inwards if absolutely necessary. The door swing (left-hand swing or right-hand swing) is adjustable and you will be able to decide the swing orientation during assembly. The human entry doors measure 24” x 60” and are placed on the length (L) side as shown in the diagram. Moving the door location is generally discouraged unless absolutely necessary. Door position changes affect the fabrication process, planning process, require custom instructions that may not be as easy to follow as our standard design, and the chance for errors in these steps is much higher. As a result of the extra time and resources involved, other door options can be provided but additional fees will be required. Please contact us for details if you require customizations.

Enclosures will arrive partially assembled and flat packed on a pallet. Assembly is straightforward for anyone who would consider themselves "handy." Paper instructions will be provided. It is recommended that at least two reasonably healthy people are present to install the enclosures. Knowledge of basic carpentry and assembly is helpful.

Clips will be provided that secure the enclosure together. In addition, a special tool for snugly fitting/closing the clips is also provided with each enclosure order.

Once unpacked, you will arrange your enclosure near or on the assembly site. Using provided 3 prong clips and specialty pliers, you will connect the edges of your enclosure by setting the edges until you have a fully enclosed and free-standing enclosure.

At that point, you can then attached to structure/buildings as necessary. Then you can create any needed holes in the enclosure to accept tunnels, stairs, or other accessory components as needed (holes are not made by Habitat Haven - they are made during assembly installation to offer maximum flexibility and minimize the chance for errors.)

This item is made to order. This means the item is fabricated by hand just for you. It goes through an array of steps before it becomes ready to ship. The estimated delivery date shown on this page is primarily accounting for this fabrication time. You will be notified via email when your order is ready to ship!

Our Five Kitties Love their Kittie Kingdom!

We and our five cats (mama and her four kitties) love the space. It provides a spacious outdoor area that flows seamlessly from the indooors to play, lounge, and nap - rain or shine, night or day - that is safe, aesthetically pleasing, and includes numerous vertical spaces and climbing opportunities. The kitties can spend time together outside yet each still have their own separate space when they want it. It was well worth it!
